Why you can trust in the stone coated steel roof from GERARD

I like my Gerard roof, what’s more, I love it! Installation was quick and precise as well. We were rather unlucky with weather, during the reroofing installation it was pouring with water all the way long. Yet we had no leakage at all in this period either. Since then we already „survived” some violent storms but it was such a relief that I had to not worry that the wind will tear off some tiles! We also had hail but could not damage Gerard. Simply, you don’t need to worry if your house is under this roof.

We are installing GERARD tiles for over 20 years. In last years, we do mainly re-roofing jobs on older houses. Clients realized that GERARD is ideal choice for re-roofing, because tiles are very resistant, yet light. Therefore, they do not need to worry about reinforcing old wooden roof structure. I recommend GERARD!

My name is Anton Brula, and I live in the municipality of Črnomelj in Slovenia. On 8 July 2018, we were hit by a terrible meteorological disaster. A hailstorm, with hailstone as big as a fist! Wherever it fell, it caused devastation. Roof tiles on all buildings in our villages were smashed to pieces. I own a house that was roofed in accordance with all the new expert guidelines, i.e. ventilation, secondary roofing, and bricks. Everything failed, with water pouring into the house. So I was faced with a question: what do I do now？ There was no other solution – we had to build a new roof. When I drove around the affected area, I noticed that no roof with conventional roofing remained intact. Two full trailers of broken roof tiles had to be removed from my house alone. A roofer arrived with a roof tile made by GERARD. I took the tile and smacked it with a hammer. There was practically no trace of the impact. This tile is made from steel sheet metal. I immediately made my decision: my house will be covered by GERARD roof tiles. I wish my 6-year-old grandson could live safely under this roof. During the storm, he was very shaken up and shocked, as were we all. The village of Talčji Vrh, where we live, will now have five out of ten houses covered by GERARD roof tiles.

We had an asbestos slate roof and because of the weak roof structure we could opt for light-weight solutions only. The benefit of Gerard compared to other light-weight roofs is that due to the stone coating noise protection is much better and looks very attractive as well! But noise protection was vital for us since we live in the attic and did not want to suffer from a noisy roof. We already had lots of visitors who wanted to see the new roof and it blew away their mind, honestly! They would not have thought that it looked that good! The installation was like a dream. The Gerard roofer arranged everything from purchase through delivery to a very fast and precise installation!

I decided for GERARD because of two reasons: the design, which I like very much and the resistance to weather extremes, especially to high winds and hail. My GERARD roof is 6 years old and it is still like new!

We were looking at plenty of options for our roof but light weight was key. Our house is 50- 60 years old and could not bear heavy roof tiles statically. But with Gerard there was no need to touch the old roof structure but could install Gerard straight on the old roof. By doing this we saved lots of money. And our new roof has a great aesthetic appeal as well.
