In the high mountains, a roof must withstand nature’s most formidable forces.
In this blog, we’ll explore how GERARD’s innovative roofing system beat the competition and why the hotel’s striking transformation has captured the attention of locals and roofers alike. Curious to know what made GERARD stand out? Read on to discover the story behind this impressive project.
1. THE NEED FOR A DURABLE AND AESTHETIC ROOFING SOLUTION
The hotel, nestled in the serene Jawornik Valley of the Silesian Beskids, was originally built in 1998. However, after just a few decades, the roof showed signs of wear, prompting the need for a complete reroofing. The owners wanted to ensure that the new roof would not only last for many decades to come but also maintain an aesthetic appeal that would complement the hotel’s beautiful natural surroundings—mountain slopes, coniferous forests, and a nearby ski slope.
2. SMOOTH INSTALLATION WITH FEATHERLIGHT ROOFING
The installation process went seamlessly, thanks to GERARD’s lightweight roofing tiles, which weigh only 1/7th of traditional clay or concrete tiles. The larger panel sizes also sped up the installation, allowing the project to progress efficiently. The ease of handling these featherlight profiles in such a mountainous terrain was a key advantage, reducing strain on the installation team and minimizing the time spent on-site.
